Wissant Beach

The great sandy beach of the Côte d’Opale, stretched between the Cap Blanc-Nez and the Cap Gris-Nez, backed by the dunes d’Amont and d’Aval. At low tide it stretches out over hundreds of metres, leaving behind shallow lagoons and natural pools where children spend hours.

The slope is very gentle, which makes it one of the most family-friendly beaches in the area. Swimming is supervised here in July and August, within a marked area.

It is also one of the best spots for kitesurfing and sand yachting in Northern Europe, as the wind blows here almost constantly. A zone is reserved for them, away from the swimmers. Parking is free, but full by the middle of the morning in summer. Come early.
