Ambleteuse Fort

A Vauban fort standing on the foreshore, a stone sentinel facing the tides. Built to seal off the mouth of the Slack, today it stands with its feet in the water at high tide.

The interior is open to visitors and tells three centuries of coastal defence. The setting, for its part, needs no comment.
